Niki McDonald’s tapestries fuse the design elements of graffiti and ripped layered billposters with the traditionally feminine technique of tapestry. Niki takes the ephemeral street works that are omnipresent to every neighbourhood, lane way and city capturing the imagery permanently in wool.
Niki’s work has exhibited in galleries across Australia and won numerous prizes including the Waverley Art Prize in 2009 and 2014, and the 2013 International Women’s Day Art Prize.
